Everyone's Talking About Agents. Almost Nobody's Deploying Them.
I've had the "AI agents" conversation with about 30 marketing leaders in the last 6 months. The pattern is always the same.
They've read the LinkedIn posts. They've watched the demos. They know agents are "the future." And their team has deployed exactly zero of them.
The blocker is almost never technical. It's the question that precedes the technical: "Where do we even start?"
This post answers that question with 3 specific agents, the ROI math on each, and the audit you should run before any of them touch production data.
The Constraint That Helps
When you're standing in front of a wall of possibilities, "pick 3" is the most useful thing anyone can say.
Three is small enough to finish. It's large enough to prove the concept. And if you pick the right three, the combined time savings are so obvious that the next three practically fund themselves.
The three agents below follow a simple rule: start with the work your team hates doing. Reporting. Distribution. Model maintenance. The boring, repetitive, error-prone stuff that eats hours every week but never makes it onto anyone's highlight reel.

Agent 1: The Reporting Agent
What it does: pulls spend, revenue, and CPR (cost per revenue dollar) from every channel, every Monday morning. Formats a single dashboard. Delivers it before the 9 AM standup.
Why it's first: reporting is the purest form of repetitive knowledge work. The data lives in APIs. The format doesn't change. The logic is the same every week. A human doing this work is wasting their highest-value hours on their lowest-value task.

Pick one of the three agents above. Build it this week. Run it in report-only mode for 2 weeks (the agent generates the output but a human reviews it before anything ships). If the output is clean after 2 weeks, let it run.
Then build the second one. Then the third.
By the time you finish the third agent, you'll have 18 hours a week back. And you'll have enough experience to know which agents to build next without asking anyone for permission.
